Drywall Installation & Finishing, step by step
- 01
Hang
Board is cut, fitted and fastened to the framing with joints staggered and screws set to the right depth.
- 02
Tape & first coat
Joints and corners are taped and bedded; fasteners and bead get their first coat.
- 03
Fill & finish coats
Second and third coats feather the joints out so they disappear under paint; a Level 5 finish adds a full skim coat.
- 04
Sand & ready for paint
Surfaces are sanded and checked under raking light, leaving walls and ceilings prepared and ready for paint or decoration.

Do you do both drywall installation and drywall finishing?
Yes. We deliver smooth, durable drywall with expert installation and leave walls and ceilings prepared and ready for paint or decoration. Installation and finishing are both core Future Drywall Corp services.
What are drywall finish levels?
Finish levels run from Level 0 (board only) to Level 5 (a full skim coat over the whole surface). Most painted walls are specified at Level 4; Level 5 is used where critical lighting, gloss paint or dark colors would show every seam. Your plans or specifications name the level, and we finish to it.
Do you install fire-rated drywall?
Yes. Where the plans call for a rated assembly, we hang the specified Type X board and finish it to the rating detail, which matters on corridors, demising walls, multi-family buildings and commercial tenant improvements.
Can you texture the walls, or only smooth finish?
Both. The finish, smooth or textured, follows what the project specifies; tell us the look you want when you request an estimate.
